Court grants prosecution request to extradite Firtash to U.S.
The judicial panel of Higher District Court of Vienna has granted the prosecution's request to extradite Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash to the U.S. at the request of U.S. authorities.
"The court has granted the prosecution's complaint for Firtash's extradition to the U.S., having thus made a decision other than the trial court had taken," the judge announced at the meeting on Tuesday.
He added, "The Federal Minister of Justice takes the final decision on extradition."
