Poroshenko, Stoltenberg agree to intensify work within NATO trust funds

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg have discussed the situation in Donbas and agreed to intensify the work within targeted NATO trust funds in support of the Ukrainian state.
According to the presidential press service, Poroshenko informed the NATO Secretary General on the complicated security situation in Donbas and the escalation of tension near Avdiyivka.
The president also expressed gratitude to the NATO Secretary General for the clear position on condemning Russia's aggressive policy and its actions in Donbas and noted the importance of maintaining transatlantic unity in response to the ongoing Russian aggression.
The head of state stressed the importance of practical help NATO provides to Ukraine to strengthen its defense and reform the security sector in accordance with NATO standards.
Stoltenberg, in turn, stressed that NATO stopped practical cooperation with Russia and also supports sanctions until the full implementation of the Minsk agreements by Russia.
