Kyiv deems unacceptable talking about any elections in Donbas until several essential conditions are met
The Ukrainian side spoke out at the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) meeting in Minsk on Wednesday to reiterate that it is unacceptable to hold any elections in the part of Donbas not controlled by Kyiv until several conditions are met, Darka Olifer, spokesperson for Ukraine's envoy to the group and former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, said.
"The Ukrainian side once again confirmed its stance that without the complete ceasefire, the withdrawal of heavy weapons and military forces from Ukrainian territory, without having the border issue solved, any kind of talks about elections, about a law on a special status for separate areas of Donbas have no practical solution," Olifer wrote on her Facebook page following the TCG meeting on Wednesday.
