The Specialized Anti-Corruption Office of Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office (SAPO) continues to investigate the case involving the head of Ukraine's Central Election Commission (CEC) Mykhailo Okhendovsky, SAPO head Nazar Kholodnytsky has said.
"The investigation continues today," Kholodnytsky said on Wednesday during a Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine commission on crime prevention meeting.
Kholodytsky said the investigation would continue.
"Unfortunately, and this was predictable, it was difficult in court to prove the necessity of removing [Okhendovsky] from his position and remanding him to pretrial detention," Kholodnytsky said.
As earlier reported, Kyiv's Appeals Court has upheld the ruling of Kyiv's Solomensky district court from December 21, 2016, which declined the motion of the senior National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine detective for removing Okhendovsky as CEC member and head.
