Rada should amend legislation, provide ORDLO with status of occupied territories – Justice minister
Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko calls the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to recognize the uncontrolled regions of Donetsk and Luhansk regions as occupied territories.
"The Verkhovna Rada should adopt appropriate amendments to the legislation and extend the status of the occupied territories not only in Crimea, but also to those territories which are not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities," the minister said.
According to Petrenko, this decision will allow Ukraine to more effectively carry out the process of reintegration of these territories, the main condition of which must be removal of the Russian troops from Donbas.
