SBU prevents assassination attempt on MP Gerashchenko
Advisor to Ukraine's Interior Ministry Zorian Shkiriak has confirmed plans to assassinate Verkhovna Rada deputy Anton Gerashchenko (People's Front faction).
"Today we can say that we are talking about an attempted murder of our friend and ally, People's Deputy of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko. The assassin's paymaster was Russia's special services," Shkiriak wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday morning.
He also noted that the main motive of an attempt is the activity of Mirotvorets (Peacemaker) website and the public anti-Russian activities of Gerashchenko.
"The pattern of the assassin's paymasters is similar to the planning and implementation of terrorist attack with the murder of Pavel Sheremet," the head Interior minister advisor said.
As reported, on Friday, SBU prevented an assassination attempt on a Ukrainian deputy, saying Russian intelligence agencies were involved in it.
