President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hopes to meet with the newly elected president of the U.S. Donald Trump in Washington in February 2017.
Poroshenko in his interview with the Wall Street Journal at the World Economic Forum in Davos said that Ukraine enjoyed strong bipartisan support of the U.S. and he was absolutely confident that our continued cooperation with the U.S. would be very effective.
Poroshenko expects the U.S. administration to maintain support for Ukraine.
He said that during a telephone conversation with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump the newly elected U.S. president was interested in events in Ukraine and asked to tell about the situation in the east of the country.
