Sanctions against Russia should stay in place until implementation of Minsk agreements, return of Crimea - Biden

The international sanctions against the Russian Federation should stay in place until it fulfills the obligations it assumed under the Minsk agreements and also the return of Crimea to Ukraine, U.S. Vice-President Joe Biden said.

Along with its partners from the U.S. and G7, the U.S. made it clear that the sanctions should continue until Russia fully fulfills its obligations under the Minsk agreements, he said at a joint briefing with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on Monday.

Biden also said the sanctions against Russia associated with Crimea should stay in place until Russia returns Crimea to Ukraine.
