About 300 corruption cases sent to court by Military Prosecutor's Office in 2016
Investigators of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine in 2016 sent to the court 285 indictments against 329 persons into criminal proceedings on corruption, Ukraine's Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoliy Matios said.
"Throughout 2016 all investigators of Military Prosecutor's Office (144 military investigators - not to be confused with 500 NABU (the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine) detectives) sent to court 285 indictments, in addition to other more than 3,000 investigated and sent to court criminal proceedings, upon receipt or giving of an improper advantage in relation to 329 people," Matios wrote on his Facebook page.
In 2016 the courts issued 131 convictions within the criminal proceedings on corruption. Some 135 people were brought to justice, the head of the military prosecutor's office said.
