Grybauskaite urges Ukrainians to unite in fight against corruption, pledged to support reforms
Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite has urged the Ukrainian society to join in the reforms and opposition to corruption, which, in her opinion, brings more harm to Ukraine than military actions.
"Your country is now passing through a very important and far-reaching reforms, which are painful for the people, and it is important to maintain patience ... Recent e-declarations have demonstrated that you have a lot of work ahead in the fight against corruption, which sometimes does more harm to your country than war. It is a challenge, which politicians alone can not overcome. It is necessary that all the people of Ukraine to be united," she said at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv on Monday.
Grybauskaite also noted that the Lithuanian authorities will support Ukraine in implementing reforms at all levels: international, European and bilateral.
