EU should extend anti-Russian sanctions in current situation in Donbas - Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expects the European Union to decide on the extension of sanctions against Russia.
"Shelling continues and Ukrainian soldiers are being killed. We see that there is no withdrawal of heavy weapons and artillery, including 152mm heavy-caliber artillery and mortars [which] were used against the positions of the Ukrainian military last night. And the extension of sanctions against Russia is an absolutely clear need in these circumstances," he said at a joint briefing with Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite in Kyiv on Monday.
Poroshenko said he expects the EU to make a decision to extend these sanctions in the near future.
