Intercity+ train from Kyiv to Przemysl to be launched on Dec 23
The Intercity+ high-speed train will be launch on the Kyiv-Lviv-Przemysl (Poland) route on December 23, 2016, Ukrzaliznytsia Board Chairman Wojciech Balczun has said.
"There are many questions about the train to Przemysl announced today. I confirm that in two weeks, from December 23, we plan to launch the Intercity+ high-speed train on the Kyiv-Lviv-Przemysl. It will run every day all year round," he wrote on his Facebook page.
The train will depart from Kyiv at some 07:00 and arrive to Poland in six and a half hours. The train will depart from Poland almost at once after its arrival. It is planned that customs procedures will be cleared during the train movement.
"Now our specialists jointly with Polish experts are finishing organization. As for the ticket price: we are negotiating on the introduction of discounts to compete with transportation by road. As soon as we have the result, we will announce the price and start selling tickets. It would be a good present to our and Polish passengers by Christmas," he said.
