When providing assistance to Ukraine NATO ensures its proper use – Stoltenberg
NATO provides assistance to Ukraine under the conditions of full transparency and takes appropriate measures so the funds should go where they are needed, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said.
In order to support reforms in Ukraine, NATO continues to help in the fight against corruption in the ministries together with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Stoltenberg said at a press conference in Brussels on Wednesday after a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of foreign ministers.
He assured that the Alliance directs its efforts in Ukraine at the fight against corruption.
During Wednesday's meeting it was clearly stated that the reforms supported by NATO are aimed at the fight against corruption, and the alliance focuses on the ways to ensure the effective and transparent use of its assistance, the secretary general said.
