Kyiv reports 45 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in past 24 hours
Militants have conducted 45 attacks on Ukrainian army positions in the past 24 hours, the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) staff said on Wednesday.
Avdiyivka, Luhanske and Svitlodarsk came under mortar, grenade launcher and heavy machinegun attack in the Donetsk sector, and sniper activity was observed in Luhanske, the staff said in the morning on Facebook.
In the Luhansk sector, militants from the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) fired 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers and anti-aircraft guns on Krymske, Novozvanivka, Novooleksandrivka and Stanytsia Luhanska, while small arms were used against Katerynivka, it said.
In the Mariupol sector, hostiles fired 120mm and 82mm mortars on Shyrokyne, Chermalyk, Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, Talakivka and Vodiane, and grenade launchers, infantry combat vehicle weapons and small arms were used against Novotroitske, Starohnativka, Shyrokyne, Hnutove and Pavlopil.
The Maryinka checkpoint came under attack by automatic grenade launchers, the report said.
