Kyiv says Russian troops come close to Ukrainian border
Russia has amassed some 55,000 troops near its border with Ukraine, Ukraine's Deputy Defense Minister Ihor Dolhov said.
"Currently, Russia has gathered around 55,000 troops near the Ukrainian border, in close proximity. In Ukrainian territory, Russia is represented by regular army units of 5,000-7,500 people. In Crimea, the Russian army's military presence amounts to 23,000 people, of which around 9,000 troops are located right on the administrative border with mainland Ukraine," Dolhov said in Kyiv on Tuesday.
