Yanukovych claims snipers in Kyiv were shooting from buildings controlled by Maidan activists in 2014
Disgraced and ousted Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych People has claimed rallying on Independence Square (Maidan Nezalezhnosti) in central Kyiv in 2014 were shot by snipers from buildings controlled by Maidan activists.
"Everyone knows that snipers were shooting from buildings controlled by Maidan, and both law enforcement officials and those rallying on Maidan were shot simultaneously. And how can you investigate these events and not investigate those? How can you declare some people heroes and just bury others? Not only does this blatantly violate the Constitution, but this also doesn't work in terms of the presumption of innocence and inevitability of punishment," he said.
