Kolomoisky joins UKROP party, heads its party control commission
Former head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, businessman Ihor Kolomoisky has joined the UKROP (Ukrainian Union of Patriots) Party and headed the commission for party control.
This decision was taken at the party congress in Kyiv on Friday.
The Congress elected the political council of the party, which includes 175 people, approved the list of alternate candidates for its political council, elected members of the audit commission and the party control commission, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
The party's political council will be made up of head of the UKROP party branch in Dnipropetrovsk region, Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov, MPs Andriy Denysenko, Oleksandr Shevchenko, Valentyn Didych, Taras Batenko, Oleksandr Dubinin (all unaffiliated lawmakers).
The UKROP political party was registered by the Justice Ministry of Ukraine on September 25, 2014.
An inter-faction association UKROP was later created in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
