Opposition Bloc says economic growth in Ukraine impossible without peace
Economic growth, solution of social problems or any reforms are impossible if peace is not achieved in Ukraine, Borys Kolesnikov, co-chairman of the Opposition Bloc party has said.
"Our main purpose today is peace. Because without peace we will not resolve social or economic issues," Kolesnikov was quoted as saying by the Opposition Bloc party press service.
The politician said Ukraine also needs to adopt a new constitution. "After peace comes to Ukraine, we can speak about a new constitution. A new constitution is a guarantee of success and a way to a more effective model for running the country. Elections and reforms can be conducted in accordance with the new Constitution. There is just no other model," Kolesnikov said.
He also said all party actions of the Opposition Bloc will be peaceful. "Today we have gathered regional leaders and decided that our actions will be peaceful. And they will be conducted mainly in the form of roundtable meetings involving the public," Kolesnikov said.
