Rada urges European Parliament, Council of EU to grant visa-free travel to Ukrainians by end of 2016
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has called on the governments of the EU countries, the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union to grant Ukrainian citizens visa-free travel before the end of 2016 in an address backed by 261 parliamentarians on Wednesday.
In particular, the Rada urged the European Parliament and the Council of the EU "to make the necessary decisions for the European Union to grant visa-free travel to citizens of Ukraine without further delay, before the end of 2016."
The Rada also called on the governments of the EU member-states to support the European Commission's legislative proposal on granting visa-free access to Ukrainian citizens for short-term visits to European Union countries.
