Kyiv working on preparations for Poroshenko-Trump meeting
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said his ministry is working to organize a meeting between President Petro Poroshenko and Donald Trump, who won the presidential election in the U.S.
"We will now talk about it with the Trump team, whether this meeting can take place before or after he formally takes office, what Trump's priorities are," Klimkin said on the 1 plus 1 TV channel.
The main emphasis will be on establishing relations with the Trump team, but this does not mean that the relations that have already been established with U.S. Democratic Party representatives will be lost, the minister said. "What we need is precisely efficient, bipartisan support. And we'll be working on it further," Klimkin said.
