Yuschenko, Kuchma, Kravchuk questioned in case related to Novinsky – media reports
Three Ukrainian presidents have been questioned in a criminal case with the involvement of MP from Opposition Block Vadim Novinsky, Ukrayinska Prava publication has reported, referring to a request of Ukrainian Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko sent to the Verkhovna Rada to holding him criminally accountable.
According to the document, the presidents were questions in 2014: Leonid Kravchuk on May 20, viktor Yuschenko on July 31 and Leonid Kuchma on August 31.
A total of 50 witnesses were questioned.
Novinsky is suspected of exceeding his official authority by unlawfully curtailing the freedom of Oleksandr (Drabynko) – the assistant of the deceased former representative of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) Volodymyr (Sabodan), a violation of Part 2 of Article 146 and Part 1 of Article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Novinsky says the case against him is politically motivated and that he does not fear the removal of his immunity from prosecution.
