Five Ukrainian soldiers wounded in ATO zone in past 24 hours

Five Ukrainian soldiers have been wounded in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone in the past 24 hours, the Defense Ministry's spokesman for ATO, Andriy Lysenko, has said.

"In the past 24 hours, no Ukrainian soldier was killed and five were wounded," Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Saturday.

Lysenko said that the enemy breached ceasefire five times in the Luhansk sector. Cases of shelling were carried out in Lopaskyne, Krymske and Popasna district. The militants used mortars twice.

He said that cases of shelling along the entire frontline were conducted in the Donetsk sector. The enemy used infantry fighting vehicles in the village of Luhanske and mortars in Zaitseve. Fire was also opened near Horlivka and Opytne. The majority of hostilities took place in the Avdiyivka industrial area. A total of eight cases of shelling, two of them using heavy weapons, were recorded in the Donetsk sector.

Lysenko said that two thirds of shelling cases occurred in the Mariupol sector. The enemy used mortars and cannons in the Hnutove-Shyrokyne area. The most high-powered shot was fired in Krasnohorivka. A total of 25 cases of shelling were recorded in the Mariupol sector.
