Police to carry out operational and preventive work in Ukraine before end of 2016 - Dekanoidze
In all Ukrainian regions, starting with Kyiv, from November 1 until the end of 2016, the police will conduct operational and preventive work to stop the rise in crime, head of the National Police of Ukraine Khatia Dekanoidze has said.
As Dekanoidze told at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday, the preventive work, which the police should perform, is invoked to "bring down" the increase in crime, which is now observed in Ukraine.
The National Police head said that it’s high time for serious actions to prevent crime after the first wave of reforms.
"Every day we’re employing up to 1,500 law enforcement officers. We have additionally allocated the National Guard forces - 200 troops," Kyiv police chief Andriy Kryschenko said.
