Another ASF case recorded in Kharkiv region - police
The outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) has been registered in Valky district in Kharkiv region, the communications department of the National Police in the region has said.
According to police, information was received from a local resident who reported on the death of three-month-old pigs in his yard. The State Emergency Anti-Epizootic Commission at Valky District State Administration approved a plan of measures to prevent the spread of ASF pathogen, the borders of epizootic outbreak, protection and surveillance zones were defined.
According to the police, as a result of examination of the private sector in the towns of Valky, Kostiv and Kruhlyk 27 sick pigs were identified and destroyed.
As reported, the first case of African swine fever was registered in Derhachi district of Kharkiv region in late August. Later the disease foci were also recorded in Vovchansk and Kharkiv districts.
