Decree on extension of sanctions against Russian citizens and companies will come into force on Oct 31
The decree of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, enacting the decision of the National Security and Defense Council dated September 16, 2016 on application of special personal economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions), will enter into force on October 31, 2016.
"The decree will enter into force on October 31, 2016," reads presidential decree No. 467/2016 on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
According to the norms valid in Ukraine, laws and other acts of the Verkhovna Rada of regulatory nature take effect in ten calendar days after the official publication unless otherwise stipulated by the laws or regulations but not prior to official promulgation. The same norm is provided for presidential decrees.
