Some 900 criminal proceedings opened into unlawful police actions

The Head of the National Police of Ukraine Khatia Dekanoidze has informed about the opening of 900 criminal proceedings on the facts of illegal actions performed by the police officers within a few months.

"The police should really be cleaned up, so we have manually set up an efficient structure within the police forces involving internal security. I want to note that within a few months we have opened about 900 criminal proceedings on police misconduct," she said during the board meeting of the Internal Ministry in Kyiv on Thursday.

The National Police head of Ukraine said the statistic testifies the police department’s ambition to be self-cleaning.
