European Parliament has stable majority for introduction visa-free regime with Ukraine
European Parliament President Martin Schulz has assured President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko that the European parliament has the majority for introducing visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens.
During the meeting with Schulz in Brussels on Thursday, Poroshenko urged the European Parliament to provide visa-free regime to Ukrainians as soon as possible, the press-service of the Ukrainian president said.
"The European Parliament has a stable majority for the introduction of a visa-free regime with Ukraine," Schulz said in his turn.
The two sides also agreed that the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union should be immediately ratified.
In addition, Poroshenko and Schulz discussed the progress of reforms in Ukraine.
"The Ukrainian president urged the European Parliament to speed up the adoption of additional autonomous trade preferences for Ukraine," the message says.
