Klympush-Tsintsadze discusses impossibility of holding elections in Donbas with delegation of PACE Monitoring Committee

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze has discussed with the delegation of the PACE Monitoring Committee the impossibility of holding elections on the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"This part of the Minsk agreements [elections in separate areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions] can not be performed due to the security situation. Even the OSCE mission can not get to certain areas of the east of Ukraine, how can the Ukrainian government held elections there?!" the press service quoted deputy prime minister on Monday.

The interlocutors also discussed granting visa-free regime with the EU to Ukraine.

Deputy prime minister informed about the full implementation of action plan for visa liberalization by the Ukrainian side. According to Klympush-Tsintsadze, despite the Russian aggression, Ukraine has demonstrated that it doesn’t involve the migration threat to the EU.

"Visa liberalization with the EU is a question of freedom of movement, self-respect and dignity for the Ukrainians," she said.
