Migration crisis in EU not related visa-free regime for Ukraine, but doesn't help either
New head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Ambassador Hugues Mingarelli has said that though the issue of the provision of the visa-free regime to Ukraine is not related to the migration problems in Europe, they create 'hostile environment' for the Ukrainian issue.
Speaking at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday, Mingarelli said that currently the issue of migration is one of the most difficult ones that European politicians have faced.
Of course, the issue of visa-free regime with Ukraine is not directly related to the immigration issue, but its implementation is being held in a hostile environment, he said
The EU ambassador hopes that Ukraine will soon receive a visa-free regime with the EU, but pointed out that it was not within his competence to speak about any specific dates.
Mingarelli was appointed head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine on July 21, 2016.
