Defense Ministry reports 22 attacks in Donbas in past 24 hours

The positions of the Ukrainian military men in Donbas came under fire 22 times in the past 24 hours, the press service for the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on Monday morning.

The agency registered 16 attacks on the Mariupol track.

According to the Defense Ministry, the enemy breached the 'ceasefire regime' in the areas of Maryinka, Hranytne and Pavlopil using grenade launchers, guns and firearms. Moreover, 82mm-caliber mortars were used on Maryinka and tube artillery of 122mm caliber was used on Shyrokyne, the ministry said.

The Defense Ministry also registered four attacks on the Donetsk track.

The Ukrainian military in Novhorodske came under fire from infantry combat vehicles, grenade launchers, large-caliber guns and firearms, and the enemy used 82mm-caliber mortars to open fire on Ukrainian positions in Avdiyivka, the Defense Ministry said.

Three ceasefire breaches were registered on the Luhansk track, the agency said.

Ukrainian positions near Trekhizbenka came under fire from large-caliber guns and grenade launchers of various systems, the press service said.

Similar weapons were used in the Novo-Oleksandrivka area, the ministry said.

The Luhansk regional state administration said a Ukrainian serviceman was wounded in the attack in Novo-Oleksandrivka.

"The enemy opened fire on Novo-Oleksandrivka, Popasna district, five times in the past 24 hours," Yuriy Klymenko, deputy head of the regional state administration, was quoted as saying on the administration's Facebook page on Monday.

According to the official’s information, the enemy used anti-tank guided missile systems, grenade launchers of various types and large-caliber guns in the said direction on Sunday evening. "One Ukrainian serviceman was wounded in the attacks," Klymenko said.
