Poroshenko: there should not be fractional division, infighting at Constitutional Court
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expects decisions from the Constitutional Court, which will contribute to the development of law and the formation of legal culture in the country.
"The Constitutional Court in nature and ideally is a non-political authority equally distant from all the branches of power and is the main arbiter of political and legal contradictions. I want to emphasize that the Constitutional Court in the period of reforms and implementation of overarching changes must constantly be on guard of the rule of law and the Constitution," he said, speaking at the international conference on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
At the same time, the president noted the importance of absence of factionalism and infighting in this body.
"Definitely, there should not be division on someone's quota, including that of the president, origin, education, specialization or other status," he said.
