Lutsenko tells EC official about inadmissibility of monopoly in investigating corruption offenses
Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko and Director General for Enlargement at the European Commission Christian Danielsson have discussed the reform of the Ukrainian prosecutor's office.
According to the press service of the prosecutor general, Lutsenko told about the cleansing of the prosecutor's office system and fight against corruption within the authority.
In addition, Lutsenko drew attention to the issues of jurisdiction between law enforcement authorities in investigations into criminal offenses against officials involved in corruption crimes.
"We must together fight against corruption. There cannot be monopoly in investigation into corruption offenses," he said.
Danielsson, in turn, assured the Ukrainian side of the full support of reforms now being carried out by the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine and wished success in this area.
