Kyiv reports 30 militant strikes on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas in past 24 hours
Militant forces have opened fire on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas 30 times in the past 24 hours, the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on Friday morning.
Sixteen instances of shelling were recorded near the city of Mariupol, where the militants fired small arms, machineguns and grenade launchers near Maryinka and Pavlopil in violation of the ceasefire, and used 120mm and 82mm mortars against Shyrokyne.
Ten truce breaches were recorded in the Luhansk region. Militant forces staged armed provocations in the vicinity of Novo-Oleksandrivka, Stanytsia Luhanska, Popasna, Novohryhorivka and Orekhove. The militants used small arms and grenade launchers in these areas, where snipers were also operating.
Four strikes were reported in the Donetsk region, where 122mm cannon artillery weapons and 82mm mortars were used against Ukrainian forces in Avdiyivka.
