JIT did not examine actions of Ukrainian air traffic controllers in light of MH-17 tragedy
The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) did not examine the actions of the Ukrainian air traffic controllers as part of the inquiry into the MH17 tragedy in Donbas.
The main inquiry of the team was not focused on this issue, it was not the subject of the investigation in this criminal case, Wilbert Paulissen, head of the Central Crime Investigation department of the Dutch National Police, said at a briefing in the Hague on Wednesday.
As reported, the Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 en route from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was downed in eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014. All 298 people onboard were killed.
