Poroshenko hopes U.S. will support Ukraine under new president too
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he hopes for further support from the United States after the presidential elections in that country.
"I will have a meeting with [U.S.] President [Barack] Obama and I have asked the two candidates for a meeting. One of the candidates has already agreed, it's Hillary Clinton. And we hope for a confirmation [of the meeting] from Mr. [U.S. presidential candidate Donald] Trump. And I think we have enough arguments to motivate them to support Ukraine," Poroshenko said when opening the annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) in Kyiv on Friday.
