Hahn assures Parubiy EU visa-free issue is on homestretch
Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Andriy Parubiy during a visit to Strasbourg, France, has met with EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Johannes Hahn, and discussed with him the further cooperation between the Verkhovna Rada and the European Parliament, including the provision of a visa-free regime for Ukrainians.
Hahn assured Parubiy that he will continue to make every effort for Ukraine to get the visa-free regime as soon as possible, the press service of the Verkhovna Rada reported on Wednesday. The settlement of this matter is on the homestretch, he said.
The European commissioner also raised a number of issues of further cooperation, and said he is watching the progress of reforms in Ukraine, in particular, in the energy sector. According to him, the adoption of the bill on the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission in the second reading is of particular interest.
