Poroshenko calls on MPs to pass law on special confiscation needed to fund defense sector
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has once again called on MPs to adopt the law on special confiscation, which is very important to strengthen the country's defense sector.
"The stumbling block, dear deputies, has unfortunately become the law on special confiscation, which is an important source of funding for defense orders in the current year," the president said in his annual address to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Tuesday.
At the same time, he called on the parliamentarians to make changes that would remove all the fears associated with the bill.
"This our duty to the country and I once again appeal to vote the law in this wording, which removes all your worries. Make the changes you consider necessary. But pass this law and provide funding for the state defense order and other for other planned defense spending," Poroshenko said.
