Putin does not need Donetsk and Luhansk, he needs all Ukraine – Poroshenko
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko believes that the aim of the Russian President Vladimir Putin does not involve holding only Donetsk and Luhansk regions, but the seizure of all of Ukraine.
"The goal of Putin is an attempt to destabilize the situation in Ukraine. They need neither Donetsk nor Luhansk. They want the whole Ukraine to be part of the Russian Empire, and they want to destabilize the global security situation in the world," he told CNN TV Channel in an exclusive interview.
Poroshenko said that during the last 2 weeks Ukraine lost 13 military men, 91 were injured, and the total number of attacks was 1,400.
According to president, the bombardment by Russian planes of Aleppo (Syria) is one more example of how Russia is trying destabilizing the security situation in the world.
He added that Russian aggression totally destroyed the postwar world system of security, because the aggressor is a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
