Over 2,500 Ukrainian servicemen killed in past 2.5 years - Poroshenko
A total of 2,504 Ukrainian servicemen have been killed in eastern Ukraine since the beginning of 2014, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.
"Looking back at more than two years of war, we can definitely say that the enemy has failed to accomplish any strategic task and to bring Ukraine down to its knees. As many as 2,504 soldiers have died for that," Poroshenko said at a military parade dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Ukrainian independence. The parade took place in Kyiv on Wednesday.
