Russia makes no secret of wanting to change power in Ukraine – Poroshenko

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that Russia has always known how to the use peculiarities of democratic systems in neighboring states to destabilize the situation there.

"It (Russia) makes no secret of its desire to change the power in Kyiv. In the past few weeks alone Moscow went back to its rhetoric, using the words 'junta' and 'the people who seized power in Kyiv.' There is no doubt that calls for early local elections were heard in the Kremlin," Poroshenko said during a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian Diaspora, dubbed 'Ukrainians of the World – Ukraine' in Kyiv on Monday.

The Ukrainian president noted that Russia has always been able to use the features of the democratic systems of neighboring states in order to destabilize them.
