No one to seize apartments for utility services non-payment – justice minister
Ukrainian Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko has denied rumors spread in social networks and media reports that allegedly according to a new law, apartments and houses could be seized from Ukrainian for utility services non-payment.
"No one would deprive Ukrainians of their property for non-payment for utility services. This is a new myth," he said on television, the press service of the ministry reported.
The minister also said that thanks to the subsidies system the issue of utility services non-payment would not be on the agenda at all.
"Without a court decision no one can seize private property. With the help of the subsidies system and increasing living standards of Ukrainians we would lift the issue of utility services non-payment at all," he said.
