FM: Ukraine waiting for Ukraine-EU Association ratification fate from the Netherlands
Ukraine is waiting for decision from the Netherlands regarding the completion of ratification of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement in the context of the outcome of the nonbinding referendum in the country, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.
"Now the ball is on the field of our Dutch partners. They are to find a way to settle the issue. I hope that internal policy would not affect this decision," he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
Klimkin expressed hope that the decision would be found soon.
He also said that an option for settling the issue could be a declaration from the Netherlands presented jointly with the ratification document.
It was reported earlier that 61% of voters in the Netherlands voted against the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, in a consultative referendum on April 6, 2016.
