Ukraine gradually introducing NATO defense, security standards
Ukraine is consistently introducing NATO standards in the defense and security sector, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov has stated.
"We are consistently introducing NATO standards in the defense and security sector," he said during the presentation of the Security and Defense Information Center in Kyiv.
According to him, experts from NATO member states are involved in the process of development and renewal of Ukraine's security and defense sector, as well as "military-technical cooperation with these countries is being developed."
Turchynov noted the decision was made to grant Ukraine a comprehensive package of documents at the Warsaw NATO Summit.
"The key issue in the military reform is complete rejection from the Russian-Soviet attitude to soldiers as cannon fodder and the introduction of the basic NATO principle - the unconditional preservation of the life of soldiers in combat tasks," the NSDC official added.
