UK's position on Crimea, sanctions against Russia remains unchanged
The UK's position on sanctions against Russia remains unchanged: sanctions will be extended until the Minsk agreements on Donbas settlement are fully implemented, British Prime Minister Theresa May said during a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
The UK prime minister also stressed her country's strong commitment to the policy of non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea by Russia.
May and Poroshenko discussed topical issues of bilateral and international cooperation in the context of the UK's decision to leave the EU. Poroshenko thanked the British government for their firm position of support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The two leaders also expressed interest in expanding economic cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom. In the course of the conversation, they also discussed the continuation of British financial and expert assistance in the implementation of reforms in Ukraine and training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Poroshenko invited May to visit Ukraine.
