Yatseniuk tells EU Commissioner Oettinger about importance of Ukraine's political unity

The former Prime Minister of Ukraine, leader of the People's Front party Arseniy Yatseniuk and European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Gunther Oettinger have discussed a wide range of issues.

"To actively develop cooperation with the EU, we need to ensure the unity of political forces in the parliament, a stable operation of the coalition and the strict adherence to our course despite populism and provocation. I stressed the particular importance of supporting the activities of Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and the incumbent government. Political unity in Ukraine is not only necessary, it is vital," Yatseniuk wrote on his Facebook page.

The ex-premier expressed confidence Oettinger's current visit to Ukraine would bring practical results.

"I mean Ukraine's integration into the single digital EU market, reduction of roaming tariffs for our citizens in EU countries, exports of Ukrainian digital goods and services," he said.

Oettinger arrived in Ukraine on a two-day visit.
