High-ranking policeman killed, several officers injured during seizure of Yerevan police building
A deputy head of a police regiment, Col. Artur Vanoyan, has been killed during an attack by an armed group on a police and internal troops building in the Erebuni district of Yerevan on Sunday.
"Col. Artur Vanoyan was killed during the attack. Col. Aram Ovannisyan, Lieut. Col. Grach Khostegyan and Sergeant Major Gagik Mkrtchyan sustained gunshot wounds. Several police officers were injured," Armenian deputy police chief Unan Pogosyan told reporters on Sunday.
