Ukraine to train Air Force aviators, ground personnel under NATO standards
Acting Ukrainian Defense Minister Ivan Rusnak has met with United States Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James to discuss the development of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The meeting was held in Kyiv on Thursday, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's press service said.
"In the context of the Air Force's development the Ukrainian side is interested in cooperation in the areas of development of professional and leadership faculties of personnel, development of airfields and infrastructure, as well as the training of aviators and ground personnel in line with the NATO standards," Rusnak said.
In turn, the U.S. Air Force secretary noted substantial progress in the implementation of Ukraine's reforms in the area of security and defense and assured that the U.S. would continue its assistance to Ukraine's efforts to restore its territorial integrity and develop modern Armed Forces.
