Italy backs sanctions against Russia until Minsk peace deal fulfilled
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held negotiations with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi in Warsaw, the press service of the head of the state has reported.
"The Italian prime minister reiterated Italy’s commitment to the issue of preservation of sanctions against Russia in case Russia doesn’t fulfill the Minsk agreements," the press service said.
Poroshenko informed on the deterioration of the security situation in Donbas.
The parties coordinated positions on the eve of the today’s meeting in the G5 plus Ukraine format with the participation of U.S. President Barack Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, British Prime Minister David Cameron and Italian Prime Minister Renzi.
"The interlocutors agreed with the importance to preserve unity in supporting Ukraine today," the press service said.
Renzi expressed gratitude to Ukrainian law enforcers for finding the art masterpieces stolen from the Verona museum.
