Poroshenko expects extra $500 mln in aid from U.S. to reinforce defense, security
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expects the U.S. to approve additional $500 million in financial aid to help reinforce the country's security and defense.
"The U.S. has assigned $335 million to finance this aid. This step is important in the context of the ongoing U.S. Congress hearing on the draft bill assigning additional $500 million dollars for us. We sincerely expect some additional intensification of our cooperation," Poroshenko said when speaking at the ceremony of handover of counter-battery radars that arrived from the U.S. at the Boryspil airport on Saturday.
