Ukraine to chair UN Security Council in February 2017
Ukraine will chair the United Nations Security Council in 2017, Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) Volodymyr Yelchenko has said.
"We've been elected as new members for the next two years and we finally know that Ukraine will chair the Security Council in February 2017. We are preparing already," he wrote on Twitter on Friday morning.
Yelchenko recalled that Japan is currently chairing the UN Security Council.
"The next interesting event will be the first indicative voting to elect future UN Secretary-General from too many candidates," Yelchenko said.
